Adaptations

These animals have all adapted to their environment. Two of which would be the Bald Eagle and the Black Bear. The Bald Eagle has very sharp eyesight to help spot its prey from the sky. However, since they're in the sky the sun would make it hard to see, but the eyes of this magnificent creature are shadowed by a boney ridge that keeps the light out. This adaptations works perfectly with the eagles capability to soar slowly above the ground using air currents which allows the eagle to search for prey even longer without using too much energy. This is possible because of its large wingspan which can be about 7 1/2 feet in length. However, the Bald Eagle is not complete without its sharp tallons to catch the prey. Even though the Bald Eagle has clearly well adapted to its environment, the black bear has many incredible adaptations as well. Black bears have a very large body size that's built for strength and power. They also have canine teeth that allows them to be able to chew very well. This is helpful to them because they are omnivorous. They eat deer, fish and some plants. Mainly berries due to the fact that black bears cannot easily digest plants and berries are among the easiest plants to digest. They're detached lips make it easy for them to pluck berries from the shrubs and trees in the forest. This allows them to gain plenty of energy before the winter. This allows black bears to sleep for months without food and water.
