Temperate rainforests affect the culture of these cities by the clothing we wear, and the activities we do. Because temperate rainforests are moist and has high precipitation, we normally wear warm bulky clothing during winter and the summer we have slightly thinner clothing for the slightly cold weather. Temperate rainforests in British Columbia is near the equator meaning we don’t have much variation in weather meaning the summers and winters are not much different in temperature. We don’t have to adjust very much to the temperature change and therefore, we don’t really plan as much as people who live closer to the poles where the temperatures change during the years. When the temperature becomes warmer, we do fishing. Salmon are one of the primary species of the rainforest and is also important food source for wildlife. The cold and raining weathers also allows us to do winter activities such as hockey and skiing.
